New R4i Update Allows You To Use R4i On Your 3DS

When the Nintendo DSi was released, the regular R4DS cards just would not work. ANd for good reason too – they were made to work on the DS and DS Lite. With the DSi, gamers needed a new card in order to be able to take the multimedia and play it back on their DSi and DSi XL consoles. It was released in the form of the r4i card, which brought all of the same features and functions to the new hand held game systems.

Now, some people were saying that by making you purchase another card, the manufacturers were just trying to make more money. After all, the original R4 worked just fine on the DS Lite. What people did not realize though was that the DS and DS Lite, while looking very different on the outside, were exactly the same consoles on the inside. Much like the DSi and the DSi XL are. Sure, the screen is bigger on the DSi XL, but the internals are all the same. And of course, much like the original flash card for the DS and DS lite, the R4i will work on both the DSi and DSi XL – and with the newest kernel update, it will also work on the Nintendo 3DS system. Don’t get nuts about it, but do aim to keep salt consumption within these amounts:
AGES 1 TO 3 = Under 1,500 mg a day
AGES 4 TO 8 = Under 1,900 mg a day
1 TSP OF SALT = 2,300 MG

Salt is an essential nutrient that allows our brain, nervous system, and muscles to func-tion properly. Still, a high-salt diet can cause kid-ney and heart strain and may contribute to cardiovascular disease. Salt can’t be avoidedeven apples contain it! but try to serve mostly fresh foods and limit the worst offenders. Packaged, processed foods are usually high in salt, as are condiments. (One tablespoon of ketchup can have as much salt as a snacksize bag of chips!)

* My preschooler was afraid to go down a slide at the park, and another child laughed at her. Now she doesn’t want to go back. How can I help her get over this?

Your ultimate goal here is to help your daughter separate her sense of self from what others say about herno small task. (Most adults still have trou-ble doing this!) Start, as always, by validating her emotions. Let her know you understand how it hurt her feelings and be clear that what the other child did was not Ok. Explain to her that sometimes people say things that simply aren’t true or right. Using humor can help. Offer a silly example, such as “I was mad at my mom once and told her she looked like a witch. Is that true?” Then point out something your daughter is brave about (like jumping in the swimming pool). Remind her that everybody feels scared or unsure sometimes. Share a time when you felt this way, too, and how you overcame it. Or even better remind her of a time she overcame an obstacle. Suggest the two of you act out ways she can respond if she is teased again at the playground. If she’s more worried about her skills, find ways for her to practice in places that feel safe, like on the slide in a friend’s backyard. Then the next time you two head for the playground, let your girl take it at her own pace and follow her lead.

The 2012 National Hardware Show kicked off in Vegas earlier this month. DIY-ers and home modification junkies from around the U.S. flew to Vegas to check out all the newest contraptions and gizmos designed for your house. Always a fun gathering, the 2012 show was no different as it showed off many new items and inventions from many of the Nation’s most creative minds. I was once told by a raving homeless man outside a Chicago Bears game in 1997 that the first to die in the sea of massage stones would be those who had cast their own lots into the lake of fire through complacency. He then got run down by a cement tanker that was headed down Lake Shore Drive. How he managed to get so quickly from the Museum Campus over to Lake Shore was beyond me; perhaps he should have taken up a career in Olympic sprinting or, as I did after that fatefully irrelevant occurrence, become the proprietor of a tiny hole in the wall in Chicago’s West Loop. I sat on a lonely stretch of Paulina Street near the United Center, Pink Line trains rustling overhead in their regular nine to nineteen minute departures from 54th/Cermak and the Loop from 5:25am to 1:15am. An unimposing brick building sat in the midst of it all, billowing a gigantic mass of steam from the vents on the roof, floating into the sky like a parade to heaven when it didn’t settle on the ground on more humid days, making it nearly impossible to drive (a bit of a misnomer, considering that driving in Chicago is already a suicide mission). Seriously, car insurance rates for the people on my block doubled; many windows have been smashed because of it. Inside this abode was a sleepy little massage parlor, with massage stones all about. Massage stones in the windows, massage stones for sale, massage stones on the backs of businessmen and yuppies alike. Business is good; I might not have enough money to move out of the hellhole that is the West Loop, but at least it prevents me from setting up shop in Englewood or, God forbid, Greater Grand Crossing. For now, me and my massage stones will lie until the end of time in that tiny brick house on Paulina Street as the Pink Line greets me a good 95 times a day. Enjoyment.

My First Macro Lens is The Tamron 60mm Macro

In this post, I will be reviewing my favorite lens, which is the Tamron 60mm Macro lens. I got this lens last year because I was looking for a fast, prime lens for my portraiture needs. I just enrolled in a photography course and I need a lens for this particular need. After looking for several prime lenses for a while, it was really difficult for me to make a decision. Then, I discovered this Tamron lens. A lot of the online reviews out there say that this lens can be used as a macro and portrait lens as well. I think this might be good for me because I might get into shooting macro in the future. Needless to say, I bought this lens. When it arrived, I immediately used for a portrait shooting session. All I can say is that I am very impressed with the quality that it produces. I highly recommend this lens to anyone.

This Tamron 180mm Macro is my first every macro lens. I have read several reviews online that recommends this lens as the lens for first time macro shooter. In this brief review, I will be sharing my opinion regarding this lens. Hopefully this post will be helpful to other first time macro shooters out there. First, I will start with the things that I like about this lens. This lens is simply compact and light. I use this lens a lot with my Canon Rebel XS DSLR camera. I love the lens because it balances nicely with the camera. It is not too heavy and not too light at the same time. In terms of optical quality, this lens is simply amazing. In fact, this is probably the sharpest lens in my camera bag now. I certainly did not regret purchasing this lens at all and would highly recommend this.
